Dear Fellow Lions Club
Members:
January?, Was it
really January? I guess when we are blessed with weather as nice as we just
experienced in January, the gift shouldnt be questioned just enjoyed.
We managed a visit to the Pullman club; we installed five (5) new member
Lions (Steve Hacker, Kelly Moore, Annette Olson, Delbert Reisenauer and Paul
Tousley (thanks Jim Maley, as sponsor); and we added two new yard signs to
our inventory (thanks Mike).
At the February Board meeting, the
Board unanimously endorsed Nate Strong as January Lion of the Month. Nate
has worked so diligently to manage our finances and I am pleased to honor
him. Also in January, we noted an increase in requests for financial
assistance from various community members. As we deliberate about our
support efforts, it might be helpful to review the basic stated Vision and
Mission of Lions International and the Moscow Central Lions Club.
Our
Vision Statement is:
To be the global leader in community and
humanitarian service.
Our Mission Statement is:
To empower volunteers
to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and
promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
Please think
about these elements of our commitment to our community as we consider
requests for help.
Dont forget that Charter Night has been
rescheduled for February 27th. Mark your calendar and please make your plans
to attend our celebration.
Thanks Lions for all you do!
Yours in Lionism, Jeff
Harkins
